It is with pride and inspiration that we invite you to be part of Paris Indie Visions Fest, a festival that brings together independent filmmakers from all over the world to discover new facets of art and share their unique stories. Paris is a city where the air is saturated with inspiration. It is the place where revolutionary ideas were born and outdated canons were broken. It is where the Lumière brothers first showed their films to the public, where Georges Méliès created magical worlds on the screen, and where the New Wave with its daring approaches changed the film language forever.

Paris Indie Visions Fest Awards

The Paris Indie Visions Fest is for those who dare to express their ideas, explore new art forms and offer audiences unusual perspectives. Our awards recognise the unique talents that drive the film industry forward.

Grand Prix for Independent Vision

The festival's main award, given to a film that demonstrates innovation, emotional power and originality. This prize emphasises contributions to independent cinema and the creation of new languages and forms of expression.

Award for Outstanding Storytelling

Award for Outstanding Storytelling, recognising films with a strong story and deep character development.

Award for Best First Feature

Award for Best First Feature. We support new talent and believe that the first step into the world of big cinema deserves special recognition.

Experimental Vision Award

Award for an outstanding experimental film. This award recognises filmmakers who go beyond traditional forms, explore boundaries and create a new space for art.

Award for Visual Excellence

The Award for Visual Excellence recognises outstanding camerawork, art direction and the creation of unforgettable images on screen.

Audience Choice Award

An audience favourite award given to a film that has captured the hearts of its audience. We value audience feedback and consider their opinion an important part of a film's success.

Short Film Visionary Award

Awarded to the best short film that showcases innovative vision and talent in a concise form. We celebrate filmmakers who know how to tell powerful stories in a short amount of time.

But our festival is not just about the past, it's about the future. Paris Indie Visions Fest is designed as a space for bold ideas, experimental approaches and new voices. We believe that every film is a small universe, and every filmmaker is a guide who helps the viewer explore it.

We created this festival to give independent filmmakers the opportunity to find their audience, share their vision and hear feedback. Paris is the perfect place for this dialogue. A city that is like a stage set in itself, a city that holds an infinite number of stories, inspires and unites creators from all over the world.

At our festival, you will be able to present your work in a historic cinema in Paris that has seen more than one era of cinema. Here you can meet colleagues, find new collaborators and immerse yourself in an atmosphere of creativity and support.

Paris Indie Visions Fest organisers

Rules of participation in the Paris Indie Visions Fest:

Focus on an authorial approach

The festival accepts works that demonstrate a strong authorial vision. We are looking for films with a personal touch, be it in terms of style, theme or presentation.

Film categories and length

Short films: up to 40 minutes.
Full-length films: 40 to 120 minutes.

Originality of work

The film must be an original work of the participant. Use of other people's material is allowed only if the appropriate rights and licences are granted.

Submission Deadline

All films must be submitted by the stated deadline. Entries submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Age Limit

Films for viewers over the age of 16 will be accepted. If there are explicit scenes, profanity or other age restrictions, the author must indicate this when submitting the entry.

Technical Requirements

Films must be submitted in MP4 or MOV format with a minimum resolution of 1080p. Download links via verified platforms (e.g. Vimeo or WeTransfer) are accepted. Audio must be in stereo or 5.1 format.

Year of film production

Films completed no earlier than 2020 are eligible. Films made earlier can only participate in retrospective programmes at the invitation of the organisers.

Number of works submitted

One participant can submit only one work in each category, but one film can be submitted to several categories at once.

Subtitles

Films not shot in English or French must be subtitled in one of these languages.

Professional and amateur works

We welcome works by professional filmmakers as well as films by students and aspiring filmmakers. All projects are judged on equal terms.

Screening rights

By submitting an application, the author grants the festival the rights for one screening of the film as part of the main programme and, if agreed, for additional screenings during the year at special festival events.

Feedback

All participants whose films are not included in the programme can request feedback from the jury. We believe in supporting and developing talent at all stages of creativity.

Cancellation of participation

The organisers reserve the right to reject an entry if the film does not comply with the festival rules.
